But at least it went by fast! I didn't get much accomplished at work. Gizzie Boo was acting weird Saturday and Sunday, coughing a lot, sneezing, and making this pitiful wheezing sound that made it seem like he couldn't breathe. Every time he did it I picked him up to shush him and give him kisses but this persisted all day and all night. Yesterday I went to let him out and it was so bad that I snatched him up into the car and drove straight to the vet.
Apparently, he is suffering from seasonal allergies and just needs some antihistamine and cortisone. The vet said that he is actually not wheezing but called this a reverse sneeze? Wha?? I've never heard of that but whatever.
My dogs reverse sneeze, it's common with small breeds. Make Gizzie lick you when he's doing it and it usually snaps them out of it. Sometimes rubbing their throat helps too.
