What did Giz get into? I hope things get better love!!
ReplyDeleteUgh! Giz has still been eating his you know what and I think it's making him sick because he's not as playful and seems weird lately. I've tried all these home remedies and have been watching him like crazy but he still manages to sneak off and do it somehow!! :(
ReplyDeleteVery odd, very odd indeed..... I'm sorry! Have you called any vets and asked them what they think about it? Sometimes I call to get opinions without going in and paying a fee.
ReplyDeleteYou already know I called! She gave me some home remedy type things to put on his food but that didn't work. She basically said that the only true solution is to never give him the opportunity! Today has been a great day though. Giz has gone outside like a good boy and hasn't eaten any nasty Scooby Snacks. Wish us luck!
ReplyDeleteI meant call other vets, see if they have any other suggestions... my mom just did this because her dog was constipated and then went blind??!! Her previous vet just kind of hit a wall and didn't offer any new suggestions to help her out. She liked what a different vet had to say after making some calls and went to him, he is currently busy figuring out how to help her, he at least narrowed down what is going on with her.
ReplyDeleteWTF?! Her dog went BLIND?! Oh my. That is so scary! I'll try to call other vets if this problem doesn't resolve itself soon. So far, everything my vet said was pretty consistent with literature about coprophagia, though.
ReplyDeleteYeah, it's freaking weird, when they look at her eyes they are totally normal, but she 100% cannot see, she slowly walks around, bumping into stuff. My mom has to guide her all over the place. She also has signs of having Cushing's, but some of her symptoms make no sense, just weird.
ReplyDeleteOMG how old is your mom's dog? It may be a cortical visual impairment and not necessarily the eye itself. People can have healthy eyes but the connection to the brain can go bad. Is this reversible?? How terrrible, Nik. Give your mom my love and I hope poochie pulls out of this.
